After more than two decades of delivering uncompromising metal, Single Bullet Theory is back with fire in their veins and fury in their riffs. Their brand-new single, “They Will Come for You,” drops September 18, 2025 across all digital platforms—and it’s not pulling any punches.
“Single Bullet Theory has always been a bit of a hybrid metal band, and my influences as a writer range from the early grooves of Pantera and (Seattle’s) Panic all the way into the vehement nastiness of black metal and deep into the melodic roots of Priest and Maiden. This new song showcases a bit of everything SBT has displayed over the years and is a huge nod to our past while embracing the future,” says Matt DiFabio, founder and frontman.
This track is a sonic battering ram aimed straight at one of humanity’s most brutal truths: the weaponization of mass deportation and forced migration. From the Spanish expulsion of Jews and Muslims in 1609 to Hitler’s “Final Solution” in 1942, from the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947 to the U.S. repatriation campaigns of the 1930s and 1954’s Operation Wetback—all the way to the modern wave of deportations under current administrations worldwide—“They Will Come for You” makes it clear that governments have always had the power to destroy lives on a massive scale.
“This isn’t just history class,” adds DiFabio. “This is the sound of every wall, every checkpoint, every forced march. We’re not here to take sides—we’re here to drag the truth out into the light, no matter how ugly it is.”
“They Will Come for You” also features an absolutely blazing guest guitar solo from James Murphy (Testament, Death, Obituary). A towering figure in death metal, Murphy’s legendary guitar work has left a permanent mark on the genre, and his history with Single Bullet Theory runs deep. He produced and mixed the band’s early milestones, Route 666 and Behind Eyes of Hatred, while contributing unforgettable guest solos across multiple albums over the last 25 years. His presence on this track ties SBT’s current firestorm to their enduring legacy.
Adding even more weight to the release, the single was mastered by Sterling Winfield (Pantera, Pissing Razors), whose work has helped define the sound of groove metal’s heaviest hitters. Winfield’s mastering sharpens every riff and roar of “They Will Come for You” into a weapon-grade listening experience.
The single further coincides with the return of guitarist Dan Loughry, who was a key part of the band during the 2006 touring cycle for Behind Eyes of Hatred and later recorded solos and rhythms for 2007/2008’s On Broken Wings. While Loughry did not record on “They Will Come for You,” his rejoining the band came at the exact time the song was conceived—making the tie between the two moments feel inseparable.
“Rejoining Single Bullet Theory feels like stepping back into a war I never truly left,” says Loughry. “These new songs are heavier, darker, and more urgent than ever. ‘They Will Come for You’ hits with a truth and brutality that’s impossible to ignore, and I’m proud to be back in the trenches with this band.”
DiFabio adds, “Having Dan back in the lineup is like strapping a missile launcher to the band. His playing, his energy, and his chemistry with us—it’s a massive weapon in our arsenal, and it couldn’t come at a better time.”
The release of “They Will Come for You” sets the stage for Single Bullet Theory’s highly anticipated fall tour with groove-metal legends Pissing Razors and Byzantine. Kicking off in October and November 2025, this run marks one of the most punishing underground metal packages of the year—a collision of raw power, fury, and decades of combined history.
Alongside the new single, Single Bullet Theory is also unleashing rare and previously unreleased tracks spanning their 25+ year career. These songs showcase the diversity of the band’s catalog—ranging from the precision and ferocity of Gothenburg-style melodic death metal, to the relentless swagger of Pantera-inspired groove metal, and even moments of striking intensity with powerful vocal melodies woven throughout. It’s a reminder that Single Bullet Theory has never been a one-dimensional act, but a band unafraid to evolve while staying true to their brutal roots.
