The release of the third album from Melbourne, Australia based heavy, progressive rockers Flitcraft, Transmission Echo, is less than two weeks away now and the band have unveiled a tantalising taster of all that is to come. A video of entrancing contrasts, light and shadow, has been unveiled for the album track 'Beside the Point' - a song that typifies the great riffs, great vocals and exciting, progressive song writing elements that come together in Flitcraft's sound, creating a heady, addictive sonic elixir. The band's singer, guitarist, synth player and founder Phillip T. King has offered his thoughts on the song, the video, the experience that is 'Beside the Point'...
"'Beside the Point' is a cool little song that perhaps defines Flitcraft in a way...it's weird and dark and yet also creeps up with a pop vibe and catchy chorus. I wanted to write something simple and trancy; this is the result. The video was a fun experiment in attempting to make a narrative out of the dreamy strangeness that the music evokes. It's my tip of the hat to the film noir vibes of David Lynch; I want people to feel odd and then laugh. Which is my general experience in day to day life."
